It’s Pick-a-Palooza on this episode of the Hollywood Video Guys podcast! In this episode your hosts Mike, Don and Randy have each picked one movie that another host has to watch. First up is the 1993 film Tombstone (10:00). Starring Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Powers Booth, and Sam Elliot, Tombstone tells the tale of a a successful lawman's plans to retire anonymously in Tombstone, Arizona, but those plans are disrupted by the kind of outlaws he was famous for eliminating. The next film is 1994’s Quiz Show (36:30). A young lawyer, Richard Goodwin, investigates a potentially fixed game show. Charles Van Doren, a big time show winner, is under Goodwin's investigation. Last on the list, we jump ahead to 2017 with the film The Florida Project (1:00:00). Set over one summer, the film follows precocious six-year-old Moonee as she courts mischief and adventure with her ragtag playmates and bonds with her rebellious but caring mother, all while living in the shadows of Walt Disney World.

We didn't hear no bell!! The Hollywood Video Guys are back with a brand new episode all about "The Italian Stallion" Rocky Balboa.
Beginning in 1973, and enduring in some form all the way to the present day. The Rocky franchise is the ultimate underdog anthology. Your HVG crew begins with Randy’s favorite film in the franchise Rocky (12:10). In the film, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), a poor small-time club fighter and debt collector, gets an unlikely shot at the world heavyweight championship held by Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Next up is Mike’s favorite 1979’s Rocky II (44:45). In the film, Rocky struggles to adjust to his newfound fame and family life. Called out repeatedly by a prideful Apollo Creed, Rocky eventually accepts the rematch. Last on the list is Don’s favorite 1985’s Rocky IV (1:11:55). In the film Rocky confronts Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), a Soviet boxer responsible for a personal tragedy in Balboa's life. Afterwards, the guys go over some of the other films in the Rocky franchise as well as ranking the franchise from best to worst (1:39:05).

On our SuperBowl Spectacular episode your HVG crew dives into their favorite football movies. First Donny starts us off with Adam Sandler comedy Water Boy (1998). The movie tells the story of Bobby Boucher who becomes a college football star when he is able to tap into his anger and become a tackling machine. Next Mike brings his favorite football movie Any Given Sunday (1999). The film stars Al Pacino as veteran coach Tony D’amato and Jamie Foxx young and brash quarterback Willy Beamen. Directed by Oliver Stone this film has several interweaving stories and a wonderful ensemble cast. Last, Randy takes us home with his favorite movie Remember The Titans (2000). In 1971 Virginia high school football was everything to the people of Alexandria. But when the school board was forced to integrate an all-black school with an all-white one, the very foundation of football's tradition was put to the test. Starring Denzel Washington as coach Herman Boone. This film also has a strong ensemble cast including Will Patton, Wood Harris and Ryan Hurst.
